Flutter is running in production at Google, Toyota, Nubank, Alibaba, MGM Resorts, SoFi, Wolt and dozens of other companies. Every app below is confirmed by Google’s official Flutter showcase or a published case study, and every entry states the one thing it actually proves: which platform, which workload, which constraint. This is evidence for a stack decision, not a popularity contest.
How This List Was Built
Most lists of Flutter apps repeat the same eight names and offer no way to check them. This one uses a stated method.
- Every app is listed on the official Flutter showcase at flutter.dev, in Google’s own product lineup, or in a case study published by Google or the company itself. Nothing here comes from a roundup blog.
- Each entry carries the specific capability it demonstrates, because a name on its own tells you nothing. Knowing that a car maker ships Flutter on an instrument cluster is useful. Knowing that a car maker likes Flutter is not.
- Where Google publishes a number, the number appears with the company that reported it. Where no number is published, no number is invented.
- Dates matter and are given in the sections below where they change the meaning. A 2021 case study describes 2021.
One caveat worth stating up front:
The Flutter showcase is a marketing page, and the figures in it are self reported by the companies rather than independently audited. Treat the direction of each result as credible and the exact magnitude as a claim. The section near the end on what this list does not prove goes into that properly.
What Flutter Is In 2026
Flutter is Google’s open source toolkit for building applications from a single Dart codebase that run on iOS, Android, web, Windows, macOS, Linux and embedded devices such as car displays and televisions. It draws its own interface rather than wrapping platform widgets, which is why a Flutter app looks identical across devices unless you deliberately branch.
Three current facts are worth knowing before you read the list, because they change what these case studies mean today:
- The stable release is Flutter 3.47, published on 12 August 2026.
- Material and Cupertino, the two design libraries, have moved out of the core SDK into standalone material_ui and cupertino_ui packages on pub.dev, now at version 1.0 and opt in. Design system updates no longer wait for the quarterly SDK release.
- Impeller, the rendering engine, is now on by default on macOS, Windows and Linux as well as mobile, and Widget Previews reached stable in the same release.
So the older entries below tell you what was possible on a much earlier version of the framework. The recent ones tell you what teams are choosing now.
Google’s Own Products
Start here, because the most practical signal is whether the company that builds the framework trusts it with revenue and reputation. Google does, across payments, advertising, education and storage.
- NotebookLM
Google’s AI research and note taking assistant. The case study covers how the team built and shipped a mobile app rated 4.8 stars in seven months.
What it proves: A brand new AI product can go from nothing to a well rated app on both stores inside two quarters with one team rather than two.
- Google Pay
Google’s payments app, rebuilt on Flutter as part of a global expansion.
What it proves: Payments at international scale, with everything that comes with them in security review and regulatory surface, are not off limits.
- Google Earth
Planetary scale mapping and 3D imagery.
What it proves: Flutter works well as the interface layer wrapped around a demanding native graphics core. The heavy rendering stays native, the controls and panels do not have to.
- Google Ads
Campaign management, bid adjustment and performance reporting on mobile.
What it proves: Dense data tooling, the kind with nested tables, filters and charts, translates cleanly. This is the closest public analogue to an internal business application.
- Google Classroom
Coursework, assignments and grading used by schools worldwide.
What it proves: The framework is trusted in a setting where accessibility, low end Android devices and uptime all matter at once.
- Google One
Subscription management, cloud storage and device backup.
What it proves: Account, billing and subscription surfaces are a natural fit. These screens are mostly forms, state and lists, which is exactly what Flutter is efficient at.
Google Analytics, YouTube Create, Family Link, Read Along, Crowdsource and Fitbit Ace also appear in the Flutter at Google section of the showcase, which puts the internal footprint well beyond the six above.
Banking, Fintech And Insurance
The category where people assume cross platform will be rejected on security or performance grounds. It has not been.
- Nubank
The largest independent digital bank outside Asia. Nubank ran a formal evaluation of Kotlin Native, React Native and Flutter across eleven criteria and published a 54 page report before committing. Google reports a merge success rate 30 percent better than native and a merge rate six times faster, with Flutter pull requests merging in an average of 9.9 minutes against 70.45 minutes across all platforms. A life insurance product launched in three months, their fastest ever, against a previous range of several months to a year.
What it proves: The real return at a large bank is organisational, not visual. Backend engineers started contributing to the mobile frontend, and new hires shipped within days. That is the argument a CTO actually cares about.
- SoFi
American personal finance company delivering a finance superapp experience on Flutter, published June 2026.
What it proves: The superapp pattern, many distinct products behind one shell, is workable. It is also one of the most recent large financial adoptions on record.
- Betterment
Automated investing and retirement accounts.
What it proves: A regulated investment platform can standardise on Flutter and scale a development team around it.
- Kikoff
Credit building products, published April 2026.
What it proves: Newer fintechs are still selecting Flutter in 2026. This matters because much of the internet’s evidence for Flutter is from 2021 and 2022.
- Virgin Money
The UK bank unified its app development on Flutter.
What it proves: Consolidation works. Several separate apps and brands can collapse onto one codebase without the product suffering.
- Crédit Agricole
One of Europe’s largest retail banking groups.
What it proves: European retail banking security and procurement review, which is not a light process, has been passed with a Flutter application.
Skandia in Sweden, CZ Zorgverzekeringen in Dutch health insurance and Klasha in African cross border payments are three more financial entries in the same showcase.
Marketplaces And Ecommerce
Long scrolling image feeds, search and checkout. This is where people worry about scroll performance and memory, so the evidence is worth reading closely.
- Xianyu by Alibaba
China’s largest second hand marketplace. Alibaba’s senior development engineer Bruce Chen is quoted on the Flutter showcase saying the time to develop a new feature dropped from one month to two weeks.
What it proves: Image heavy marketplace feeds at the scale of the Chinese consumer internet hold up, and the development speed claim comes from the engineering side, not marketing.
- eBay Motors
The vehicle buying and selling arm of eBay, rebuilt in Flutter.
What it proves: You can carve one high value vertical out of a very large native marketplace and rebuild just that piece. Partial adoption is a legitimate strategy, not a compromise.
- Kijiji
Canada’s leading classifieds platform, which reports launching features faster after the move.
What it proves: Classifieds patterns, meaning search, listings, saved items and buyer to seller messaging, are well served.
- Romwe
Fast fashion retailer in the Shein group, reporting a 30 percent improvement in developer efficiency.
What it proves: A release cadence as aggressive as fast fashion can be sustained on one codebase.
- Grupo Soma
Brazilian fashion group behind the Farm brand, which reports a 12 percent increase in in app purchases.
What it proves: A rebuild can move a commercial metric and not only a developer productivity metric. This is one of the few published entries that names a revenue side result.
- Karaca
Turkish homeware retailer shipping features twice as fast to more than a million monthly users, published April 2026.
What it proves: The cadence benefit is not reserved for companies with hundreds of engineers. Mid sized retail teams report the same pattern.
Food, Delivery And Local Services
Live location, order state that changes every few seconds, and patchy mobile connections.
- Wolt
Finnish delivery platform operating across Europe and beyond.
What it proves: Live order tracking, maps and delivery state work, and the case study is framed around entering new markets rather than cutting cost.
- talabat
Middle East food delivery leader that moved from siloed native development to a unified Flutter codebase, reporting faster releases and a more stable, more performant experience for millions of users. Published May 2026.
What it proves: The separate iOS team and Android team model can be consolidated deliberately. This is the clearest recent example of a migration motivated by team structure rather than budget.
- Caribou Coffee
US coffee chain that migrated its app to a single codebase.
What it proves: Mobile ordering, store locators and loyalty programmes do not justify two separate applications for most chains.
- Monta
European electric vehicle charging platform.
What it proves: Apps that coordinate with physical hardware over a network, in this case charge points, sit comfortably in Flutter.
- Beike
Chinese housing and property services platform.
What it proves: Property search with large listing sets and heavy media works at national scale.
- QuintoAndar
Brazilian property rental and sales platform, whose case study is specifically about achieving feature parity.
What it proves: The most common goal of a migration, getting iOS and Android to the same feature set at the same time, is reachable and has been documented.
Media, News And Music
Publishers care about two things that pull against each other: how fast the team can ship, and how much advertising revenue the app returns.
- KQED
San Francisco public media organisation. After transitioning to Flutter, KQED reports app store ratings rising to 4.8 stars and feature cadence increasing by 55 percent. Published June 2026.
What it proves: A small nonprofit newsroom team raised quality and speed at the same time, which is the usual trade off people expect to lose.
- Sözcü
Turkish news publisher, whose publisher Estetik Yayıncılık reports a 331 percent increase in advertising revenue.
What it proves: Advertising monetisation is not compromised by the framework. This is the single most useful data point for any publisher weighing the move.
- AnyMind
Asian marketing technology group that increased developer efficiency using the Flutter News Toolkit.
What it proves: Publishers do not have to start from an empty project. A maintained news template exists and has been used commercially.
- STAGE
Indian regional language streaming service that cut release time in half using Flutter with Firebase.
What it proves: Video streaming, subscriptions and content catalogues are viable, and the Firebase pairing is the common backend choice.
- Sua Música
Brazilian music streaming platform supporting 10 million monthly users.
What it proves: Audio streaming with background playback at eight figure user counts is proven, which answers the most common objection to media apps on Flutter.
- MarketWatch Stock Market Game
Dow Jones launched its Virtual Stock Exchange app in three months on Flutter.
What it proves: A publisher can launch a genuinely interactive product, not just an article reader, inside one quarter.
Health, Fitness And Public Sector
Regulated data, hardware sensors and audiences who cannot be asked to upgrade their phone.
- Headspace
Meditation and mental health platform, with a case study about reaching millions more people more efficiently.
What it proves: Audio playback, offline content and subscription management combine well, and the emphasis is on reach rather than cost cutting.
- Tonal
Connected strength training equipment, with a case study focused on feature parity.
What it proves: A companion app for a physical fitness device keeps pace across both platforms.
- Push
Athletic training and performance tracking.
What it proves: Wearable sensor data flows into a Flutter interface without needing a native app on each side.
- CZ Zorgverzekeringen
Dutch health insurer providing secure digital access to policies and claims.
What it proves: Health insurance data, which sits under both financial and medical privacy rules in the European Union, has been handled in a Flutter app.
- US Department of Veterans Affairs
The STAIR application, built to help veterans readjust to civilian life.
What it proves: A United States federal agency has shipped a Flutter application. For anyone selling into government, that is a useful precedent to be able to point at.
- Knowunity
European student learning community that has scaled past 8 million monthly active users while speeding up feature delivery. Published August 2026.
What it proves: Education apps reach very large user bases on Flutter, and this is one of the most recent entries on the entire showcase.
Travel, Hospitality And Live Events
Apps used in the physical world, often with poor signal, sometimes controlling a door.
- MGM Resorts
The MGM guest app was rebuilt from the ground up in Flutter, covering hotel rate browsing, dining reservations, contactless check in and check out, and a Digital Key.
What it proves: Hardware adjacent features such as a hotel room key, which depends on device specific radio access, can be delivered through platform channels rather than forcing a native rewrite.
- SNCF Connect
The official app of the French national railway, used for booking, timetables and live journey updates.
What it proves: National scale ticketing with real time transport data survives peak load. SNCF publicly prepared the app for a summer of major sporting events.
- Travelstart
Africa’s leading online travel agency, which migrated all of its apps to a single codebase.
What it proves: An online travel agency running several country specific apps can consolidate them without losing local variation.
- Expo City Dubai
The app grew from a visitor guide into a smart city superapp. Published March 2026.
What it proves: The ceiling on a Flutter app’s scope is high. This one expanded enormously past its original brief rather than being rewritten when it outgrew version one.
- Kakao Mobility
South Korean mobility and ride hailing platform expanding its business on Flutter.
What it proves: Mobility products with live mapping and driver matching are established use cases in a very competitive market.
- Hamilton
The official app of the Broadway musical, released in 2017 before Flutter reached version 1.0 in December 2018.
What it proves: The framework has a production track record of roughly nine years. Hamilton is the answer when someone asks whether Flutter is a recent experiment.
Games And Entertainment
Read this section carefully, because it is the one most often misrepresented. Flutter is not a game engine. What it does well in gaming is everything around the game.
- PUBG Mobile
Tencent’s battle royale title, with a Flutter case study framed around connecting one billion players.
What it proves: Flutter’s place in gaming is the surrounding experience, meaning accounts, social features, events and storefronts, rather than the render loop itself. Anyone citing PUBG as proof that Flutter builds 3D games has misread the case study.
- Supercell ID
The shared account system across Supercell’s titles, where moving to Flutter cut the core code size by 45 percent.
What it proves: A shared identity and account layer can serve several separately built games from one Flutter codebase.
- 4 Pics 1 Word
Lotum’s long running word puzzle game, used to reach new users.
What it proves: Casual puzzle games with simple interfaces are entirely reasonable to build in Flutter directly.
- Etermax
Argentinian studio behind Trivia Crack, reporting improved developer efficiency.
What it proves: A game studio can standardise its non engine surfaces across a portfolio of titles.
- Dream11
Indian fantasy sports platform supporting 50 million users.
What it proves: Extreme traffic spikes, in this case the minutes before a live cricket match locks team selection, are survivable.
- Universal Studios
Building next generation guest experiences with Flutter.
What it proves: Theme park apps, which combine ticketing, live wait times and in park navigation, are a working use case
Cars, Appliances And Screens That Are Not Phones
This is the category that changed most between 2023 and 2026, and it is the strongest argument that Flutter is not simply a mobile framework.
- Toyota
Toyota rebuilt its infotainment system on Flutter, writing a custom embedder as one of its first pieces of technology and leaning on the provider package from pub.dev. Teams in North America, Europe and Japan now build on the same codebase. Design feedback that previously took a year or two to come back from a supplier can now be in working code within a single day. The system debuted on the 2026 RAV4 and 2026 Lexus ES, with rollout prepared for the 2027 Highlander and 2027 Lexus TZ. Published May 2026.
What it proves: Flutter ships inside cars you can buy today. Toyota also names cost as a deciding factor, since many automotive interface platforms are closed and licensed per seat while Flutter is open source.
- BMW
BMW Group uses Flutter to scale customer centric product development, including its My BMW application.
What it proves: A premium automotive brand accepted Flutter for the customer facing app that carries its brand experience.
- Lucid Motors
A small team launched a multiplatform app from a single codebase.
What it proves: Headcount is the constraint Flutter attacks best. A small team inside a capital intensive company can still cover every platform.
- Whirlpool
The appliance manufacturer reports cutting development costs by 50 percent.
What it proves: Connected appliance companion apps, historically an expensive and low priority build for manufacturers, become affordable.
- LG Electronics
Building a next generation webOS, the operating system running on LG televisions.
What it proves: Flutter is being used at the operating system interface layer on a television platform, which is about as far from a phone screen as this gets.
- Xiaomi
The device manufacturer uses Flutter to fuel innovation across its products.
What it proves: A hardware company that could build native for its own devices still chooses Flutter for speed of iteration.
Productivity, Creative And Developer Tools
The hardest category. Professional tools demand keyboard support, precise pointer handling, large documents and desktop conventions.
- Superlist
Task and project management across mobile, desktop and web from one codebase.
What it proves: Desktop class productivity software is achievable, including the window management and keyboard behaviour desktop users expect.
- Rows
A spreadsheet product built on Flutter.
What it proves: Grid interfaces with formulas, cell selection and fast scrolling can be built, which is one of the more demanding interface problems in software.
- Zoho Tables
A spreadsheet and database hybrid, published May 2026.
What it proves: Complex data grids remain viable on current Flutter, not just on the version that existed when Rows launched in 2022.
- Rive
The animation tool was rewritten entirely in Flutter so designers could create multiplatform illustrations.
What it proves: A professional creative tool, with a canvas, timeline and precise pointer interaction, can be rebuilt in Flutter from end to end. This is the most demanding entry on the list.
- Tencent Cloud Chat
Tencent’s messaging product, reporting a 77 percent increase in development efficiency.
What it proves: Real time messaging, and the SDK other developers build on, work in Flutter. This is also the largest efficiency figure published in the showcase.
- ByteDance
The company behind TikTok reports a 33 percent productivity increase from Flutter across multiple applications.
What it proves: One of the world’s largest app portfolios invested in Flutter at organisational scale. ByteDance later built its own cross platform framework as well, which is a reminder that very large companies rarely commit to one answer forever.
What This List Does Not Prove
A list of sixty names is easy to misuse. Five limits are worth holding onto.
The Numbers Are Self Reported
Every percentage above comes from a case study the company agreed to publish with Google. None of it is independently audited, and none of it includes the projects that went badly. Read the figures as directional evidence that teams repeatedly report the same kind of gain, not as benchmarks you can budget against.
Presence On The List Does Not Mean The Whole App Is Flutter
Several of the largest names are partial adoptions. eBay Motors is one vertical of eBay. Supercell ID is the account layer across separately built games. PUBG Mobile uses Flutter around the game, not for the game. ByteDance uses it across internal and consumer tools rather than for one flagship. If a competitor of yours appears here, do not assume they rewrote everything.
Dates Change The Meaning
Hamilton shipped in 2017. The Nubank, BMW, Alibaba and ByteDance studies were published in 2021. Flutter has changed substantially since then, including a new rendering engine and a modular design system. A 2021 case study proves the framework was good enough five years ago, which is a different claim from being the right choice now. The 2026 entries, Toyota, talabat, SoFi, KQED, Knowunity, Kikoff, Karaca, Zoho Tables and Expo City Dubai, are the ones that describe the framework you would actually be adopting.
Companies Do Leave Flutter
Migrations away from Flutter happen, and the pattern is usually consistent. It tends to go wrong when a Flutter module is bolted into a large existing native app and the bridge between the two becomes the bottleneck, or when a team cannot hire Dart engineers in its local market, or when the product drifts toward capabilities that need day one access to new platform APIs. Greenfield builds and clean modular architectures are where the case studies above come from. Price that difference in when you plan.
Where Flutter Is Still The Wrong Choice
Being fair about this is more useful than another list of advantages.
- Heavy augmented reality and virtual reality. These need the native AR frameworks directly and are a poor fit for a drawn interface layer.
- Day one platform features. If your product depends on a new iOS or Android API the week it launches, you will be waiting for a plugin or writing it yourself.
- Real games. Anything with a 3D scene graph and a physics engine belongs in Unity, Unreal or Godot. Flutter builds the shell around the game.
- Binary size as the top constraint. Flutter ships its own engine, so a minimal app is larger than a minimal native one. The standalone design packages in Flutter 3.47 improve this, but the floor is still higher.
- Content sites that need search visibility. Flutter web renders to a canvas or to WebAssembly and is not the right tool for pages that have to rank in organic search. Build the marketing site in HTML and use Flutter for the application behind the login.
- A large existing React and TypeScript organisation. If most of your engineers already write TypeScript and you want to share logic with web, React Native usually costs less in retraining than Flutter does, whatever the framework comparison charts say.
How To Use This List In A Stack Decision
Reading sixty names changes nothing on its own. Five questions turn it into evidence.
- Find the closest match to your category and your hardest constraint, not to your industry label. A fitness app talking to a sensor has more in common with Monta’s charge points than with another fitness brand.
- Check whether that company adopted Flutter wholesale or for one module, because those are different risks with different costs.
- Check the publication date and ask whether anything relevant has changed in the framework since.
- Ask what the case study actually measured. Developer efficiency, revenue, app rating and release frequency are four separate claims and are not interchangeable.
- Test your own hardest requirement in a two week spike before committing. Every company above ran an evaluation. Nubank published a 54 page report on theirs.
Where This Leaves Your Decision
The useful takeaway from sixty apps is not that Flutter is popular. It is that the categories people assume rule it out have already been settled in public. Regulated banking is settled. Advertising revenue in news apps is settled. Vehicle infotainment is settled as of 2026. Professional creative tooling is settled by Rive.
What is not settled is your specific case: your team’s existing skills, your hiring market, your hardest technical requirement and whether you are starting clean or bolting onto something large. That is the part no list answers.
If you want that assessed against your own product rather than against someone else’s case study, we run a short technical fit review before any build begins. It covers your requirements, your team’s starting point and an honest answer about whether Flutter is the right choice, including when it is not.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are Big Companies Still Choosing Flutter In 2026?
Yes. The Flutter showcase added Toyota infotainment in May 2026, talabat in May 2026, SoFi in June 2026, KQED in June 2026 and Knowunity in August 2026, among others. The adoption pattern in 2026 leans toward migrations from separate native codebases and toward screens that are not phones, such as cars and televisions.
Q: What Is The Largest App Built With Flutter?
By published user numbers, the biggest examples are PUBG Mobile, cited in connection with one billion players, Dream11 with 50 million fantasy sports users, Nubank serving tens of millions of banking customers, and Alibaba’s Xianyu marketplace. Note again that PUBG Mobile uses Flutter for the experience around the game rather than the game engine.
Q: Do Flutter Apps Feel Native To Users?
For most product categories, users do not notice. Flutter draws its own interface with the Impeller engine and compiles Dart ahead of time to native machine code, so scrolling and animation are smooth on current devices. Where the difference is visible is in platform conventions rather than speed. Teams that want an application to feel unmistakably like an iOS app spend real effort matching iOS behaviour, because Flutter will not give it to you automatically.
Q: How Can I Tell Whether An App Is Built With Flutter?
On Android, unpack the APK or app bundle and look for a libflutter.so library and a flutter_assets directory. On iOS, the app bundle contains a Flutter framework. This is also why lists like this one can be checked rather than taken on trust.
Q: Is Flutter Free To Use Commercially?
Yes. Flutter is open source under a BSD licence with no seat fees or runtime royalties. Toyota names this as one reason it selected Flutter over closed automotive interface platforms that charge per seat.
